Dr Navin Erathna Erathnage

Dr Navin Erathnage is a highly experienced Procedural GP (Obstetrics) who has provided medical care in rural, regional and remote communities across Australia for more than 20 years. After arriving in Australia in 2004, Dr Navin undertook further training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology while working in hospitals throughout Victoria. Over the years he has worked in Queensland, New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, gaining extensive experience in emergency medicine, general practice, obstetrics and rural healthcare. Recognising the need for accessible healthcare in regional communities, Dr Navin established Maitland Street Medical Centre in Narrabri in 2018. His vision was to provide high-quality, patient-centred healthcare close to home. Dr Navin holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), a Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP), and is also a Fellow of the Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (FACCSM). He has undertaken additional advanced training in Obstetrics, Dermatology, Dermoscopy, Paediatrics, Skin Cancer Medicine and Cosmetic Medicine. With a background as a Senior Medical Officer in Emergency Departments across Australia, Dr Navin is experienced in managing a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. He is passionate about preventative healthcare, early detection of skin cancer and providing comprehensive care for individuals and families at every stage of life. Dr Navin is an elected Councillor of Narrabri Shire Council and is actively involved in supporting the ongoing development and wellbeing of the local community.
